This site is running on a GNU/Linux PC at the University of Oslo, Norway. Linux distribution is Red Hat™ Enterprise Linux 3 Advanced Server.

Current hardware, as of 2004-12-03:

• IBM eServer xSeries 445 with 4 x Xeon DP 3GHz CPUs, 8GB memory, dual FC-controllers
• Nexsan ATAboy2x (FC) with 14x 400GB drives (approx. 5.6TB raw disk capacity)

The machine is sponsored by the Center for information technology services (USIT, Universitetets Senter for InformasjonsTeknologi), University of Oslo (UiO), the SCSI ATAboy2 as well. UNINETT, The Norwegian research network, sponsors the ATAboy2x and gigabit connectivity to the UNINETT-backbone. Software is maintaned by volunteers from both the university and UNINETT, both students and employees participate.
